MOSAIC BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM

We are so excited to introduce our new MOSAIC BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAM. This program is in the initial planning stages and we need your help to bring it to life. This program was inspired by an internal, sustainability initiative to reduce ceramic waste within our manufacturing process by breaking down our "too damaged to sell" items and putting them to use as tiles for public mosaic installations. One of the beautiful and equally challenging parts of working with ceramics is the fact that our pieces, once they go through the kilns, are not recyclable. This is wonderful because it means our wares will be around for years and years to come, however no process is perfect and as Convivial grows, so does the amount of one off pieces that are too damaged to sell. Thus, in effort to reduce our waste we’ve implemented our Mosaic Program.

The program will focus on mosaic donations, collaborations and installations within the public art sector. Take a peek below and see how you can join us in bringing this program to life. 

ARE YOU A MURALIST?

We are looking for active public muralists or mosaic artists to partner with us for this program. ARE YOU A BUILDING OWNER?

We are looking for location suggestions and available building walls that are in need of some Convivial love.  If you own a building or have a suggested location that you believe would be a good fit for us, please reach out via the forum at the bottom of this page or email us via info@convivialproduction.com.

DO YOU LIVE IN KC? 

We strongly believe that city beautification is best achieved when done so as a collaborative + community effort.  Our vision for the Mosaic Beatification Program is to work with Kansas Citians who have an interest in joining us to make the city a more beautiful place by offering their time and working hands to lay tiles within the actual installation process. Company owner, Chentell Shannon, majored in Community Art in college and will be orchestrating the projects in a way that is accessible for those who both have and do not have technical experience. To repeat, no experience is needed to join us for the installations. We will be scheduling on site work days for community members to pitch in. DO YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OF KC?

Our main focus for this program is to create murals within Kansas City.
